In this post, I will show you how to create an email account with a domain name and forward mail from your professional email to a personal email account. This way, you can easily send and receive mail from your individual email address, but your customer will see the domain name email address.

What is an Email Domain?

Simply put, the email domain is part of the address after the @ sign. For example, if your email address is john.smith@yourdomain.com, the website email in this example is yourdomain.com.

The great thing about email domains is that they allow you to have a custom email address that includes your business name or any other unique phrase you want to use, instead of the usual endings associated with larger companies.

  1. Firstly, log in to your Hosting cPanel. Most of the time cPanel link is http://yourdomain.com/cpanel. However, you can also get your cPanel link and password from the email sent by your Host Provider when you signed up.
  2. Secondly, once you’ve logged in, scroll down and click on ‘Email Accounts‘ under the Mail section.
  3. You need to enter your email username and select the domain name on the next page. Put a password and click on ‘Create Account.
  4. Then you will get a notification like this ‘Account Created,’ and you will find your created email account on the same page.
  5. Now go back to cPanel and click on ‘Forwarders‘ in the Mail section. Forwarders allow you to send a copy of all mail from one email address to another so that you do not need to check both accounts. Note that the forwarded mail will still be delivered to the original address. Then click on ‘Add Forwarder.
  6. Finally, fill in the details and click on ‘Add Forwarder.

Now all emails sent to contact@yourbrand.com will be sent to my email address.

This method requires you to purchase a web hosting package, so it’s not entirely free. After choosing a plan, you can register a website domain. If you’re unsure which name to choose, you can use the domain name generator to suggest and confirm its availability.

After completing the account setup, log into the Bluehost dashboard and go to Advanced → Email Accounts in the Control Panel. From here, you can configure your website email.

There are several ways you can get started with your new email domain. For example, you can use Bluehost’s webmail interface or connect to popular email clients such as Microsoft Outlook, Thunderbird, or Gmail. Some users prefer this solution because it is more convenient, and you can view your inbox without logging into your hosting account.
