How Embed Instagram Photos In WordPress Posts guide

I’ve written a few articles about how images can get more people to read your blog or visit your website. In this post, I will discuss how you can embed your Instagram photos and show them on your website or blog. It’s a great way to show off your best-looking photos, show the visual side of your blog’s topic, and simultaneously increase your Instagram followers. By showing your Instagram feed on your blog, you are giving your audience a preview of what they will see when they follow you. Learn in this guide how to embed Instagram photos in your WordPress posts, pages, or widgets.

Instagram only launched in 2010 but is the undisputable image-sharing behemoth, with half a billion users logging in every month and nearly 100 million posts added daily.

Adding Instagram images to your WordPress site is an excellent way of making your posts and pages more engaging – and harnessing the vast wealth of beautiful photos posted daily.

WordPress makes it incredibly easy to show Instagram photos on your posts and pages. The process is the same for both, so follow these steps for either.

Getting Instagram photo URL

You first need to find the Instagram photo you want to embed on your WordPress site.

If you’re using the Instagram app, find the photo you want to show. Press the vertical ellipsis (…) and then Copy the Share URL. It would help if you now paste it somewhere you can access it on your desktop. Emailing the URL to yourself works. Once you’ve got the email, copy the URL to your clipboard.

If you’re on instagram.com, find the photo you want to embed and load it up on a page by itself. Click on the link showing how old the post is to do this.

Finally, you’ll now be on a page with a unique URL for the post! Copy this from the navigation bar to your clipboard.

Adding Instagram photos to WordPress

With your Instagram post URL copied, it’s really simple to add photos to your posts and pages.

Add a new post or page, or load up one you’ve already published. Find where you want to add the photo and hit return to create an empty line for the photo. Check out on this guide to embed Instagram posts on WordPress.

Paste in the URL and hit return again. WordPress will now automatically show the Instagram post.

Publish or update your post, and you’re done!

Embedding photos

Instagram also gives you the option to embed photos manually. If pasting the URL isn’t working or you want extra control (you can choose to hide the description), this is an alternative option.

Again you’ll need to find your photo, but to embed it, you’ll need to use instagram.com – you can’t use the app. As before, navigate to the full-page photo with the unique URL.

Now, instead of copying the URL, click on the ellipsis (…) on the bottom right and click Embed.

Instagram will now give you an embed code that you can copy. If you want to hide the caption, untick the Include caption box.

You can now embed the photo on any post or page. As before, either add a new post or page or edit a pre-existing one. You now want to switch to the Text editor and find where to add the photo. Hit return twice to add space for the photo and paste the embed code.

Instagram generates a lot of code, but switch back to the Visual editor, and you’ll see the photo added. If there’s a grey space where you’re expecting to see a picture, don’t worry. The image will display on the front end of your site.

Publish or update the post or page, and you’ve added an Instagram photo!

Benefits of Adding Instagram Feed to WordPress

Before we dive into the guide, here’s why: Adding an Instagram feed to your WordPress site will boost your brand and business by showing visitors the latest photos you’ve uploaded to Instagram. The main benefit of including these feeds on your website is increased brand exposure. However, there are many other notable benefits.

You can maintain high engagement and potentially build lasting customer relationships by regularly updating your feed with enticing, shareable images complemented by searchable hashtags.

Finally, adding an Instagram feed to your website will help you build greater trust with your customer base. By regularly updating your feed, you can demonstrate how relevant, innovative and responsive your company is to trends.
