There is a general consensus in the soccer world that Manchester City are the best. The way they play, the players they have and the way they are run, it is a flawless club. If you were to do (soccer) football betting, Man City are always going to be the favorites and even in the race for the best graphic designs, they are the first mentioned.
However, it is for good reason that their matchday graphics are a thing of beauty and the design shows a lot of things well. The colors they show are always recognizable as their colors which is a huge part of their identity. Moreover, a big thing is their player positions.
Behind the players, there are their signatures which already adds a different layer compared to other clubs. Not only that but it shows the players in their correct positions which is. Unfortunately, a rare thing for matchday graphics. Overall, Man City have some great matchday graphics and shows off their team and team colors with pride.
Chelsea
On the flip side of Man City, Chelsea is not running well with best teams matchday graphics. Or really playing well and seems to be in a weird period at the club. But, if this entire season goes wrong for them and their hundreds of players. At least their graphic team can sleep well knowing they have one of the best designs in the league.
But, what is so special about Chelsea’s designs? Well, similar to City they have their players laid out in the correct order in a nice all-whiteout design. The badges at the bottom show who they are playing in a nice stylized white color that matches the text.
The real standout here is the background picture. Whereas with City the design itself was an almost advent calendar design that took up most of the page. Chelsea’s lineup design is very minimal and the main focus is what accompanies it.
The background is a picture of the player who is starting the game. In the kit with just their face on the screen and the color in the back being a beautiful blue that makes all of the colors pop. It is a feat that is hard to beat in the league.

West Ham has been incredible with their clubs branding this season. So, with their iconic claret and blue colors being incredibly recognisable and their kits being my personal favorites in the league this season. Their lineup and matchday graphics this season have been great and, again. Show off the colors fantastically to make them really stand out.
The matchday graphic is the perfect balance of recognisable and different. They are not overly complicating it. They are showing the kit, the team, and their captain, Jarrod Bowen while keeping the colors the main focus. This is branding at its finest and should be what a lot of companies look at in terms of brand identity.
